More about: Meggie Brown
Newcomer Meggie Brown has shared the video for her new single 'Journey of Goodbye' - the last cut to be taken from her forthcoming EP of the same name. It follows earlier release 'Boys Boys Boys', which will also feature on the EP.
'Journey of Goodbye' demonstrates the angsty, swaggering songwriting of Meggie Brown well. Whispered asides, bouncing bass and guitar almost ska in its strut make 'Journey of Goodbye' a solid portrait of modern day punk.
The accompanying video - which by the way makes us miss nights out with our whole soul - is a delirious, strobe-lit affair that evokes the feeling of being royally fucked up. See it:
"It feels like a goodbye to a lot of things, in a lot of ways," Brown said of the song, "My mate from Deep Tan's psychic told me [being silly] isn’t the way for me and I now understand it’s something I’ve known in my gut and it got confirmed."
On the video, directors Tessa Von Erlach and Arthur Williams said: "As Meggie sings against a flicking backdrop of what was, from moments of tender, intolerable and even crass interactions, the video aptly waves farewell to those physical freedoms we previously would have casually roamed past."
