More about: Phantom Isle
Phantom Isle have shared a further single - their second of the year. 'Mar V' is synth-pop indie-house tune with a dark underbelly. The song, which follows January's 'I Am Urs' was originally a remix of that Disco gem, though it's safe to say that the result is something completely new.

Dizzying synths put 'Mar V' on a waltzer of 80's new wave by way of the Gothicism of the new romantics. The synthesiser really is the star of the show here, pinwheeling around atop winding bass and electronic percussion like a stray firework.
Vocal yips and sounds add an experimental edge.
The accompanying visuals were performed at home in lockdown.
On 'Mar V', keyboard player Joshua Pullen said: "I was listening to a lot of Soulwax and Simian Mobile Disco at the time and loved how they would produce songs with a pounding single-note loop throughout."
On the lyrics, lyricist and drummer Sam Thorne said: “The lyrics were actually written about feeling anxious and alone”.
Also check out 'I Am Urs', which we called "disco ball balladry - with a dark edge."
