More about:

The lead single from a brand new METZ album, announced today, has arrived with its teeth out. 'A Boat To Drown In' is a power noise rock track that'll have you wanting to streak out of your front door and down the road in a fit of adrenaline. It's the first taste of Atlas Vending, out in October.

Classic METZ, 'A Boat to Drown In' is all keyed-up guitars and relentless drums alongside vocal-shredding shrieks. But there's a real handle on addictive melody in here: could there be a love song stuck in the centre of this one?

The video could suggest so: it's a weird but kinda sweet meet-cute between a girl and a big furry.

"The title refers to immersing yourself fully into what you love and using it as a sanctuary from negativity and a catalyst for change" the band's Alex Edkins said of the tune. "[It's] about leaving a bad situation behind. About overcoming obstacles that once held you back, rising above, and looking to a better future."

Atlas Vending will be the fourth METZ full-length. Our goal is to remain in flux, to grow in a natural and gradual way. We’ve always been wary to not overthink or intellectualise the music we love but also not satisfied until we’ve accomplished something that pushes us forward" Edkins said of its content.
