Newcomers Chartreuse have only been on the scene for a year - but they've already caused a lot of commotion (the good kind). Today, the Black Country quartet announce their new EP Keep Checking Up On Me with new single 'Tall Grass'.

Their first new music of 2020, the new cut evolves from early folk/soul Iron & Wine style releases into something more otherworldly. With 'Tall Grass', Chartreuse descend further into a magificent underground cathedral in which every emotion is hyper-realised and stark.

Stunning falsetto vocals join quasi-religious synths for a gentle and moving intimacy:

Vocalist Michael Wagstaff said of the new cut: "“Tall Grass is about looking both out and in. It explains the world I was in when I wrote it. Sitting in a landscape of introvertism, reflection and coming out of myself to be apart of the world, really feeling the anxieties and complexities
that come along with it."

Keep Checking Up On Me was completed before lockdown, and will be birthed into the world this October.

Keep Checking Up On Me arrives 9 October via Communion Records.
