Though they've been quiet for a long time (it's been two years since their eponymous debut album), Black Honey is still going strong. Today they return with a brand new cut titled 'Beaches'. There are hints, too, of a second album.

But first: 'Beaches'. It's a cutesy blend of playground rhymes à la The Raincoats and Sleigh Bells with some smart wind instruments tooting in the background. A veritable collage of influences, it's got echoes of riot grrrl, rock and a touch of funk in the mix.

The matching video is a smart invocation of Instagram filters. "A Quarantine Production" the short film notes, cleverly aping the Tarantino font.

Vocalist and guitarist Izzy B Phillips said of the song: "Beaches is cheeky twisted collage of all things weird, set to a playground clapping song. It’s all eye rolls, punk gigs & girls in polka dot bikinis. A nonsense filled retro world I wanna disappear into at times like these.”

“The video is a self-directed portrait series, filmed during quarantine" she added.

There will be more to come. Be ready for the return of Black Honey.
