Deftones are back with news of their ninth studio album. Twenty years on from the release of the iconic White Horse LP and four since their most recent full-length Gore, the group confirm that Ohms arrives next month.

Title track 'Ohms' arrives on a chugging nine-string guitar riff, a wall of sound that swaggers from start to finish, bearing Chino Moreno's stylish vocals like a sexy flame.

In true Deftones style, it hits like an instant classic. And yes, the video is also magnificent:

There have been rumblings that a new album was on the way since a pointed billboard appeared on Fairfax in L.A.: there were also hints made at the recent digital press conference the band held in honour of White Horse's twentieth anniversary.

Gigwise attended, hearing from the band themselves about how the recording sessions in 1999/2000 "was five guys just taking chances and believing in themselves; blazing their own little trail."

Ohms arrives 25 September via Warner Records.
