It's been a minute, but today Elder Island return with a goosepimple-inducing new original composition: the dramatic, compelling 'Feral'. It's accompanied by B-side 'Absolute'.

The A/B side release is testament to this trio's love of vinyl releases: the soothing ambience of the B-side offsets the thrilling wall-shaker 'Feral', which throbs with a bassline reminiscent of LCD Soundsystem.

It's a magnificent return for the electronic group: their first new music since the release of last year's album The Omnitone Collection. Hear it:

Bassist Luke Thornton gave some background to the A-side: “It's got a driving aggressive sound that's quite dark, and then this light bossa nova beat that goes along with it. The song is inspired by childhood memories of fear, so the track has become a juxtaposition between darkness and light.”

Let's hope there's more to come soon.
