More about: Sam Fender
Sam Fender has returned to us for the bleak new season with a moving cover of 'Winter Song'. It's in collaboration with People Of The Streets, with the accompanying video showing shots taken by homeless people. He's also partnered with The Big Issue for the release.

'Winter Song' was a 70s folk song originally performed by Alan Hull and his band Lindisfarne - and outfit hailing from the North-East, just like Fender. On his version, Fender swaps warm acoustics for the chillier sounds of a sparse electric guitar.
His voice reaches those hair-raising heights we expect of him, too.
“I hope I’ve done it justice, I’m really proud of it,” he said. "For me, the words are more relevant this year than ever. Christmas won’t be the same for a lot of people this year, and that’s why I picked Winter Song."
As well as working with People Of The Streets, Fender is selling The Big Issue - he appears on the cover of this month's issue - via his website, splitting the profits between TBI and their vendors.
