Up-and-coming Leeds band L’objectif have just shared their latest single, ‘Burn Me Out’ and an accompanying music video. With the new song, the teenage post-punk band have announced their debut EP, entitled Have It Your Way, which will arrive in July on Chess Club Records.

After proving themselves as a name to watch in the new generation of post-punk with ‘Drive In Mind’, L’objectif show their serious musical prowess on ‘Burn Me Out’. Featuring Smiths-esque vocals and elaborate, shoegazey guitars, L’objectif have quickly found their feet. Vocalist Saul Kane explains the track:

“I originally wrote the main structure for Burn Me Out over a year ago and it forever stayed as an old idea until recently when I decided to sit down and give it some attention. All I had was a chorus melody and the chord progression but the lyrical theme and subject found me in the end. The song is about dependency in a relationship and the constant cycle of habits that it entails, but it can be about anything that you rely on.”

Have It Your Way will be released this July on Chess Club Records.
