More about:

Following their eclectic debut, Boat, Pip Blom are back, with a brand-new sound, and eighties attire! Yes, the Dutch group have finally announced their second album.

Arriving after years of uncertainty - and change - Pip Blom didn’t know when this album would emerge. Of course, the pandemic got in the way of production, but it also aided the band to sit down and write, and in the space of just three weeks it was almost ready. With a new sound, filled with catchier hooks and more upbeat rhythms, it’s Boat’s older sibling, displaying Pip Blom as more established and more confident in their craft.

Lead single, ‘Keep It Together’ features riffs that still hold Pip Bloms signature bite, but they’re lighter now, bouncing off the lead vocals and back into themselves, infusing them with a subtly raucous energy. With the single comes an eighties inspired music video, it’s a parody of a fitness tape and features all the leg warmers, lycra, and sweatbands you could ask for.

On the single, frontwoman Pip has said:

“A very important thing of all the tracks is the dynamic between Tender’s and my vocals. I feel like we really compliment each other's tones. Maybe it’s because we’re siblings, but whatever it is, I love it. In the chorus of Keep It Together we sing two completely different bits, but it works really well. Tender did a lot of singing for this record, mainly for the choruses and bridges. I really like how with this bridge you’ve got this whole choir of the two of us singing in different keys. It gives it a very dreamy vibe that is nice after the powerful chorus.”
