More about: LUMP
Laura Marling and Mike Lindsay's indie project LUMP is gearing up for the release of its brand new album Animal this Friday. They share 'Gamma Ray' today, a final taste of their sophomore record.
Vaguely threatening yet a totally pleasant listen, 'Gamma Ray' combines the sweetness of Marling's vocals with the off-kilter synth work of Lindsay with beautiful deftness.
Hear the song and see its visualiser here:
“There’s this part from the second half where you hear a voice, and in my mind that was the LUMP creature speaking to us," Mike said, "Saying ‘Excuse me, I don’t think we’ve been introduced’, and then it does this kind of ‘Ahhh!’ sound, that’s LUMP going through my Eventide H949 Harmonizer. I think that’s how you say ‘LUMP’ in LUMP language. Laura also uses the word ‘gawped,’ which is brilliant.”
