Victoria Monét is back at it with her new summer single ‘Coastin’’. She’s been rapidly gaining attention for her reinvention of 70s funk and R&B in recent years, as well as for her star-studded songwriting credits with Chloe X Halle, BLACKPINK and Brandy.

The laid-back vibes of this song allow standout lyrics like “tell me, baby, what’s your sign / Cause you’re astronomically fine” to really leave their mark on the song. Her description sums it up best:

“If sunshine and a good time (and maybe a lil drank) were a song, it would be ‘Coastin’’! It’s made for people with that good, chill energy and the bassline instantly puts you in a certain feel! Shoutout to the Stereotypes for killing this production. We wanted this song to represent that freedom to finally go outside. After the year we’ve had, it feels even better to be able to finally Coast freely, make unforgettable memories and have a good ass time. Might I add it sounds especially good in the car, poolside or near any beach. Press play and let’s Coast!”

If that doesn’t make you long for the beach, we don’t know what will.

‘Coastin’’ is out now on Tribe Records.
