Bastille are back with their typical anthemic vigour and their brand new single ‘Thelma + Louise’, inspired by one of frontman Dan Smith’s favourite films. With a music video to come, the band have shared a live performance of the new track from the fictional Future Inc HQ.

The song really opens new doors for Bastille’s sound, turning towards synthier sounds and simple music to make even more space for their massive choruses. It really taps into that part of us that wants to take off on the open road and just see where we end up.

The theme of escapism plays heavily into their upcoming record, as Dan explains that they can “poke fun at the way these companies appeal to us and appeal to the world, and advertise themselves and talk about themselves, and take themselves really seriously and earn huge amounts of money whilst taking all our data and more”.
