The MOBO awards have just announced their nominees for the 2021 ceremony, which is taking place 5 December in Coventry Building Society Arena, with Dave, Central Cee, Little Simz, Ghetts and Arlo Parks leading the nominations this year. The ceremony will be live-streamed on the day via YouTube.

The MOBO Awards, which celebrate Black music and culture, have added a new category for this year’s ceremony with Best Drill Act, featuring Headie One, Tion Wayne, Unknown T and more on the list of nominees. Dave has the most nominations this year, appearing in five categories for his critically acclaimed album We’re All Alone In This Together.

Kanya King CBE, Founder and CEO of MOBO group spoke about this year’s ceremony:

“The past 20 months have been extremely challenging for artists everywhere but as always we are seeing creatives rise up and adapt, even in a global pandemic. This year’s crop of MOBO nominees have not only shown resilience but incredible talent and range. We could not be prouder to celebrate their achievements across the 18 categories that span genres, as well as excellence in TV, film and media. Congratulations and best of luck to all of our nominees. Here’s to a big night on 5th December in Coventry!"
