Having already turned heads across the music industry, Downtown Kayoto has shared his new NAVIG8 EP, out today via The Orchard. His recent singles have been consistently well-received, and the new EP brings together a lot of hard work into one impressive release.

Throughout the EP we hear a varied, but always cohesive mix of genres that introduces elements of alt-pop, rap, R&B and indie sounds in equal parts. It’s no wonder that Downtown Kayoto is frequently hailed as an artist to watch.

Downtown Kayoto explained the process of making the new EP:

“I wrote a lot of it in the night and outside. At the time of lockdown, I felt lost but strangely hopeful of the future, I was studying during the day and pursuing creative interests through the night and in between school trying to find a place to live in. The expression in ‘NAVIG8’ comes from how at this point in my life, I felt as if I was navigating every single aspect of my being, my future, my relationships, my character as well as my place in the world.”
