Electro-stop-motion beauty

More about:

Mitski has let loose a new Laurel Hell single in the form of track five 'Heat Lightning'. The new single is a slower, electro-stop-motion tune that begins with a guitar moment that sounds awfully like 'Venus In Furs' by The Velvet Underground.

Artful and pretty, 'Heat Lightning' is one of the best from Mitski so far; a third out of three in a perfect streak of singles. 'Heat Lightning' follows 'The Only Heartbreaker' and 'Working for the Knife'.

On the album as a whole, Mitski said I wrote what I needed to hear. As I’ve always done.” Most of the songs on Laurel Hell were written in and before 2018, but each has transformed over the last three years.

Laurel Hell Tracklist:

1. Valentine, Texas
2. Working for the Knife
3. Stay Soft
4. Everyone
5. Heat Lightning
6. The Only Heartbreaker
7. Love Me More
8. There's Nothing Left For You
9. Should've Been Me
10. I Guess
11. That's Out Lamp
