More about:

New PIAS signing nèomí has shared her first ever single today and it's a folksy beauty in the school of For Emma, Forever Ago or even Ben Howard's Every Kingdom. Folk songwriting at its finest complete with spine-tingling 'oohs' and a mellow guitar solo.

Half Surinamese and half Dutch, néomí cut her teeth at a music school in Amsterdam and is finally here with her first official release.

“’if i wasn’t made for love’ was written in a time where I doubted love in the most possible way ever. And let’s be honest, love is the most stupid thing in the world," she said of the song and its themes. The idea is: "if life were simple, love would be simple as well. But in the end, it’s wonderful that love is complicated. I’d rather be ‘not made for love’ than understand it."

More music is on the way with an EP slated for June.

Issue Two of the Gigwise Print magazine is on sale now! Buy it here.
