The Brian Jonestown Massacre are returning with their 19^th studio album Fire Doesn’t Grow On Trees, out 24 June on Anton Newcombe’s label A Recordings. They’ve also shared a new single, ‘The Real’, to celebrate the news. The announcement comes on the 30^th anniversary of their very first single.

‘The Real’ is five minutes of great rock ‘n’ roll, tinged with psychedelic elements that we can expect to hear throughout the album. It’s a lyrically heavy track, which frontman Anton Newcombe describes as being a ‘call to arms’ for the difficult times that we have ahead:

“I'm trying to give comfort and support to the listener in a very matter of fact kind of way, it's a call to arms, the beast can be this overwhelming darkness, the dragon, dickheads telling you that you need to be trans-human, modified to be whole and survive A.I. it's absolute madness... we are in for a tough ride, have no illusions.”
