Putting in their contender for album of the year, black midi have announced their third record Hellfire, arriving in July.

Gaining serious traction as one of the UKs most exciting truly post-punk acts around, the three piece have been playing by their own rules with high energy live shows, surprise covers releases and deeply story telling works. Following on from the 2021 record Cavalcade, this new album promises a no-holds-back personal and political direction. As the band put it - “if Cavalcade was a drama, ‘Hellfire’ is like an epic action film"...

Maintaining their deeply aesthetic and art-heavy presence, the opening single 'Welcome To Hell' comes along with an animated video, telling a tale of shell-shock and chaos with weird propaganda-esque bunny-like cartoons. Softening the blow of a heavy song about the nature of war and PTSD, it seems like we all need to start mentally prepping for the album to come.
