The Glasgow scene continues to flourish: Medicine Cabinet, already a popular live band, today present their first ever single 'The Signs'. A rewarding departure from the realms of post-punk, Medicine Cabinet propose something different: a bubblegum pop take on indie rock.

'The Signs' is a jangly track that sounds as if it could soundtrack Ten Things I Hate About You.

Here's what the band had to say about their first single:

“‘The Signs’ is about searching for meaning in the world around you where collective identity and true connection is fragmented. It’s about trying, failing, and trying again, hoping to juice some sense out of the symbols you see around you, to find your place within something, or someone. We hope that it can be a part of your mind's soundtrack, and a fruitful imaginative resource in your pursuit of happiness, as much as it has been for us."

Medicine Cabinet consist of Anna Acquroff, Cal Mingus, Joshua Chakir, Eilidh O’Brien and Joseph Lowrie. They play The Great Escape this week: catch them at Chalk on Thursday and One Church on Friday.
