Just as we began to recover from Lauran’s big debut album news, she drops a new track. In her signature silly style, ‘Step mum’ is absurd and cliche in all the best ways, stealing 00s movie tropes and trash rock to make what could’ve been the hottest TV theme for some disney show we’d all be obsessed with.

As the second tease from Garageband Superstar, the track continues the heavy DIY vibes with trashing guitars and humour-soaked lyrics. Paired with a video of Lauran messing around with friends and fans, the whole project seems to live within her world - picking pieces from all her favourite subgenres and telling stories in her own sarcastic, funny way.
