Arriving October 21st, multi-platinum Canadian sisters Tegan and Sara have announced the release of crybaby: a new approach to collaborative songwriting.

Twins Tegan and Sara have advanced their old methods to create their 10th studio album, described by Tegan as “The first time where, while we were still drafting our demos, we were thinking about how the songs were going to work together.”

With storytelling at the heart of their music, this fully-considered journey will no doubt elevate their work to new heights; the new single ‘Yellow’ as an insight into the emotional drive behind the album, as Sara explains, “written after we began to take steps to heal the bruises we have both carried with us since adolescence.”

The values of the Tegan and Sara Foundation: fighting for economic justice and representation for LGBTQ girls and women, are echoed across all of their work. From their newsletter I Think We’re Alone Now, their upcoming graphic novel duology, to their past albums, and no doubt to their new one: their music as a vital guide to young people everywhere, with a focus on the importance of change as you discover yourself growing up.

“Are we doomed to remain forever 15?”

“I hope not,” Sara concludes.
