More about: monét ngo
Genres are becoming a bit of an outdated concept, and Monét Ngo is here to show us that the best way to move on from these uncomfortable boxes is to take the best pieces of each one and mix them together. Enter ‘Strawberry Fields’, the melting pot which combines all the best elements of alt-rock, psychedelic and hyperpop electronics.
The pace and energy of ‘Strawberry Fields’ seem to change at every turn, without ever becoming disjointed. Here’s what Monét Ngo said about his new song:
“Strawberry Fields is about a time in my life where I was living out of my car with my ex-girlfriend. We were in an unstable housing situation and had nowhere else to sleep except my 2004 Toyota Camry. In the song I reflect on these weird transitional periods in my life, finding myself wanting to go back to that time. The song pays homage to The Beatles “Strawberry Fields Forever” using strawberry fields as a metaphor for a memory that you hold deeply in your heart.”
