More about:

More loveliness from Billie Marten was gifted to us today in the shape of ‘I Can’t Get My Head Around You’ - the third and final teaser track we’ll get from her upcoming record Drop Cherries.

Following in the same sickly sweet vibe, finding a totally timeless and classic sound - ‘I Can’t Get My Head Around You’ is a driving song if we’ve ever heard one. Exactly the kind of track you’d add to the playlist for a long road trip with a loved one or lull out to at the end of a long day.

Talking of the track, Billie said: “I wrote the chorus way before the verse, had it for months and whenever I'd pick up a guitar it would reappear. The sentiment expresses a deep sense of homecoming, arrival at where you'd like to be, and also a slight implausibility of discovering a new era of gladness. I truly adore the band's playing on this, so sweet, so natural, so alive.”

In conversation for issue 7, Billie told us about the album’s gentler origins; recorded straight to tape on farms and countryside retreats. Put simply she said; I’ve got very good feelings about it” - and so have we.

Drop Cherries lands April 7th.
