More about: Neventies
If you’re a fan of energy packed and attitude swinging rock music then chances are you enjoy listening to Neventies. Their music has always been reminiscent of classic rock but with modern lyrics that don’t beat around the bush, and the new self-titled album is no exception to that.
You only have to get through one song until you come to the poetically titled ‘Fuck Off’ which basically outlines what you can expect from the rest of the album. The lyrics in this LP are to the point, they don’t mess around with metaphor or laced meaning, they put intention in plain English and you can like it or… well… you know.
This is a mixed batch of both energetic and moody tunes that make it an album with a fair amount of replay value. It feels incredibly raw throughout, like you are a fly on the wall to how the band feel about life and different situations they’ve been in, it doesn’t feel as though there has been a lot of checking whether or not certain lyrics or sounds are digestible enough, rather they’re created and put on the platter for you.
It's carried a fair bit the unique vocal style of Lars Cullin. He doesn’t shy away from his accent, with a lot of the vocals sounding as if they are spoken rather than sang. It provides what is a popular form of music with a unique edge.
The album comes out following the bands hiatus after releasing their single ‘Moving On’ back in 2019. After some time away, it’s clear Neventies are back and mean business, with added energy, a more diverse feel, a killer new album and exciting live show.
