Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! Frontman Alec Ounsworth has revealed that he may be releasing a solo album collated from material he has written over the past decade.
The band have previously announced that they will be discounting all of their previously written songs and will set about starting afresh for their next album. This leaves Alec in a bit of a dilemma.
He said: "I do have some songs that I'd like to record, I don't know if I'll release them, but I'd like to properly record them. Not necessarily with this band, but maybe with some friends of mine, or by myself, just to have a recording of it.
"I probably will release it, because why not? If people actually want to hear it - that's fine."
Reflecting on the quality of the material, he finished to BBC6music: "I never said they were great! I just said I had songs that I appreciated for myself and that I want to record for myself, but, mainly to wipe the slate clean.
“Because I think they're songs that I would be disappointed down the line if I didn't actually record them at some point. But nevertheless I'd like to kinda move on."
