Massive Attack To Curate Meltdown Festival
Massive Attack have been announced as curators for this year’s Meltdown Festival in London.
The Bristolian’s follow in the footsteps of Jarvis Cocker, Patti Smith and David Bowie in taking the reins of the South Bank event.
Speaking about the festival the band said: “It's an honour to host Southbank Centre’s Meltdown Festival and to be in such inspiring company as its previous curators.
“In addition to the music, we want this year's festival to have a strong political and visual element to it to reflect our influences and obsessions.
“Our aim is to mix it up a bit by instigating collaborations that make sense and probably some that don't.”
The line is expected to announced within the next few weeks for the festival which takes place from June 14-22.
Massive Attack, who are currently working on a new studio album, are also set to play Glastonbury according to the NME.
