Madonna Mistaken For Marilyn Monroe In Nude Photo

A naked photo thought to be of Marilyn Monroe, which was to be unveiled at a press conference, has turned out to be a picture of Madonna.

The picture was discovered by an American couple at their home and was verified by a Marilyn Monroe expert.

Both parties thought that the image, believed to have been taken in1962, showed the star posing as a naked hitchhiker.

However, journalists, who were given a sneak preview ahead of the scheduled press conference, revealed that the photo was actually a picture of Madonna from her 1992 book, Sex.

Chris Harris, the expert brought in by Mr and Mrs Nicastro to verify the image, said the press conference would still go ahead so that he could “face the music”.

"You're right; it's Madonna. If there ever was an embarrassing moment ..." he explained. "Who wins here? Madonna, of course. She really looks like Marilyn Monroe."
