Judge Praises Sir Paul McCartney In Divorce Battle
Sir Paul McCartney provided "consistent, accurate and honest" evidence in his divorce battle with his estranged wife Heather Mills, a high court Judge has told.
Giving his judgment, Mr Justice Bennett acknowledged that the former Beatle had lost his temper in private hearings, but conceded that Ms Mills had been a “less than impressive witness."
“I am driven to the conclusion that much of her evidence, both written and oral, was not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid,” he said.
Ms Mills failed earlier this morning in a last ditch effort to prevent Mr Justice Bennett’s judgment from being made public.
She had claimed that the contents of the judgment would affect the safety of her and McCartney’s daughter, Beatrice.
Mr Justice Bennett, who valued McCartney’s assets at £400million, said the former Beatle was "extraordinarily talented" and an "icon to millions of people".
Ms Mills criticised Mr Justice Bennett’s valuation yesterday – believing it to be upwards of £800million – but said she was with “very, very happy” with her £24.3million settlement.
