Glastonbury Tickets Are Still Available

Over a day after going on sale...

Tickets for this years Glastonbury Festival are still available more than 24 hours after going on sale.

By yesterday afternoon 100,000 out of the total 137,500 tickets had been sold to pre-registered fans.

The Festivals organiser Michael Eavis said the reason tickets hadn’t sold out was due to the bad weather which has affected recent festivals.

"In previous years all tickets were sold-out within a couple of hours but I think three years of mud may have taken their toll, but even so, 100,000 isn't bad,” he told the BBC.

Organisers have been quick to dampen claims that the rapper Jay-Z, who will headline the Pyramid Stage, is to blame for the drop in demand.

"People will be astonished, astounded when they see who's playing,” Eavis said.

"I'm so excited about Jay-Z too. He's the best thing we have had here for years."

This year’s festival runs from June 27th-29th and will also feature headline performances from The Verve and Kings Of Leon.

If you’ve registered for tickets, click here to grab yours before they run out.

  • Can’t bloody wait, lets face it tickets will sell out, and its great that those who really wanted to go this year will not be missing out like previous years just because any Tom, Dick, and Harry wanted to go. If anything it feels more like the old times, roll on June, can’t wait! Oh and Jay-z will be pulling out of the headline slot (Not that I want him to do so) as part of his Live nation contract. He will be replaced by REM.

  • Maybe the extra 30000 people hve put people off too Mr Eavis. Turning up on Wednesday and struggling to find anywhere good to camp was a turn off, one extra area that became completely unaccessable due to the mud. I love glastonbury but I won’t be going this year, i’ll be going to one a bit later in the year to hopefully get some sun, go somewhere where there are less people and hopefully make for a more enjoyable experience.

  • I think there was some bad PR from Mr Eavis. By saying he didnt think the previous few years have been as good due to lack of teenagers disillusioned some of those people who have been supporting the festival for years. Then there was the falling out with Lost Vagueness. The rain has to be the biggest factor though. Every year we are told that more money has been spent on drainage, but each year the flooding gets worse. I’m going, and looking forward to it, but understand the fall in num
