Neil Diamond played a last minute concert at The Bitter End in New York last night (May 7th).
The veteran entertainer's performance, which was announced yesterday morning, was preceded by an unofficial meet and greet with fans, which took place outside the venue.
Despite such short notice, hundreds of fans queued to watch Diamond play one of his most intimate shows in recent memory.
The singer's seven song set included a raucous rendition of his 1967 hit ‘Kentucky Woman’, after which Diamond told the audience that he had sung the “song on this very stage 40 years ago.”
Speakers were placed in the venues windows in order to cater for the hundreds of fans who were unable to gain access to the club.
Diamond’s show coincided with the release of his 27th studio album, ‘Home Before Dark’, which was released on Tuesday (May 6th).
