More about: Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse's performance at the Staffordshire leg of the V Festival on Saturday has been described as worse than a “stuttering drag queen” by one Gigwise reader.
Winehouse was booed by members of the audience after arriving twenty minutes late for her performance, which came a year after she cancelled her appearance at the same event following a suspected drugs overdose.
She was also met with an unsettled reaction when she dedicated the song 'Wake Up Alone' to her imprisoned husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.
Speaking to Gigwise, Neari said she had gone to V Festival especially for Winehouse but was left disappointed when the singer forgot the words.
“I have seen stuttering drag queens do better than Amy Winehouse," she said.
"The only thing I know after that is that I love her music and feel really sorry that she thinks its OK to display that lack of respect for the crowd her band and her fans."
'Shambles'
Joe Kelly was also unsatisfied by Winehouse's performance, describing it as a “complete and utter shambles.
“She was definitely the worst act of the day. Total rubbish and a complete waste of anyone's time. What a contrast to her backing band who you had to feel sorry for,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sandra said: “I took my two ten year old grandchildren to see her what a let down for them.
“The only good thing that came out of it they will never touch drugs if you have to look like that so thanks for something they loved Scouting For Girls.”
