Jay-Z To Hold Free Concerts In Support Of Barack Obama
Jay-Z has announced two concerts this weekend in support of presidential candidate Barack Obama.
On Saturday, the rapper will first head to Detroit for a free concert at the Cobo Arena. The concert is meant to promote people to register to vote before the October 6 deadline to sign up in the state of Michigan.
Fans at least 18 years or older will have the opportunity to get tickets throughout southeast Michigan at the Obama campaign offices to attend the show and an accompanying rally. Tickets can be picked up beginning today (October 1) at 3PM.
On Sunday, Jay-Z will be heading to Miami for a show at Bayfront Park to promote people registering to vote as well. The show will kick off at 8:30PM on the eve of the last day to register to vote in the state, the same date as Michigan’s deadline.
Fans must once again be 18 years or older and will have the ability to pick up tickets at all south Florida Obama campaign offices. Ticket distribution will begin tomorrow (October 2) at 10AM.
Earlier, it was confirmed that Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel would also be performing benefit concerts for the politician this month.
Barack Obama recently praised Jay-Z as an artist and admitted to having his music on his iPod.
