More Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen has said he is “furious” that fans trying to purchase tickets for his forthcoming tour were redirected to a subsidiary company charging over inflated prices.
The problem came to light after fans who tried to buy tickets for a show in New Jersey via Ticketmaster were redirected to, TicketsNow.
The US based website allows fans to to trade in-demand concert tickets for higher prices.
Writing on his website, Springsteen said: "We perceive this as a pure conflict of interest. Ticketmaster is there to ensure that we have a good, fair sale of our tickets at their face value plus normal ticketing charges."
Springsteen, who is due to play an extensive world tour this year, assured fans that the redirect would be removed.
In a statement, Ticketmaster CEO Irving Azoff apologised to fans, saying the company was “genuinely trying to do the right thing for fans in providing more choices when the tickets they requested from the primary on-sale were not available, we clearly missed the mark”.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Sringsteen's new album 'Working On A Dream' went straight in at number one on the US Billboard album chart yesterday (February 4th).
Springsteen's latest chart success comes just days after he rocked the half-time show at this year's Super Bowl final in Florida.
