The 2009 edition of the Jersey Live will feature an additional stage promoting new French talent, it's been announced.
The Les Inrockuptibles stage will include performances from up and coming French bands Curry and Coco, Chew Lips and Birdy Nam Nam.
Non-French acts, including Chew Lips, Esser and Twisted Wheels, will also appear on the new platform.
JD, owner of Les Inrockuptibles magazine, told Gigwise: “This is a perfect reflection of what Les Inrocks is all about : a platform without any boundaries for the best new music, wherever it comes from.”
Jersey Live organiser Warren LS said: "With France being only fourteen miles from Jersey, Les Inrockuptibles becoming a partner of Jersey Live Festival is a wonderful thing as it will help us develop valuable exposure to a very important French festival market, and in return, we can introduce French music culture to the Jersey Live attendees through Les Inrocks.
"We believe that Jersey Live Festival can in the near future, create a unique identity for itself by offering a huge amount French music as well as our usual mix of British music, making it even more appealing than ever."
The venture marks a huge step forward for the channel island festival, which in previous years has only featured a main stage and dance tent.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Basement Jaxx and The Kooks will headline this year's festival.
Other performances will come from the likes of Passion Pit, Dizzee Rascal, Doves and Jack Petante.
