- More Michael Jackson
The former nanny of Michael Jackson’s children has said the star often took up to eight different types of prescription drugs a day.
Grace Rwaramba, who worked with Jackson for more than a decade, said she regularly had to pump the star’s stomach.
“There was one period that it was so bad that I didn’t let the children see him,” she told the Sunday Times.
“He always ate too little and mixed too much.”
Focus has shifted to Jackson’s private life – and the extent of his alleged addiction to painkillers – since his death last Thursday.
The singer is thought to have suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles less than an hour after being given Demerol – a drug similar to morphine.
'No money'
In a candid interview, Rwaramba also revealed that Jackson was deluded about his “riches” and frequently moved from home to home and hotel to hotel.
The nanny was dismissed from working for the star in December, but claimed that during a visit to see Jackson’s children in April she had to buy birthday balloons for Paris because Jackson had no money.
She also said she was once flown to Florence to buy $1million worth of antiques, even though Jackson did not own a home to feature them in.
As previously reported on Gigwise, police in LA have questioned Jackson’s doctor as a witness about his death.
The star’s family, meanwhile, are thought to be calling for a second autopsy. The first found there was no foul play.
In a statement last night, the Jackson family said they were finding it difficult to come to terms with the “sudden tragedy” of Jackson’s death.
