- More Michael Jackson
The results of Michael Jackson's autopsy have been postponed indefinitely, according to reports.
The decision to delay publication came following a meeting between the LA County district attorney's office, the Los Angeles Police Department and the coroner's office yesterday.
Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner's office said he could not say when Jackson's exact cause of death would be known.
“I have no idea," Winter is quoted as telling the Associated Press news agency.
A post-mortem was carried out on Jackson's body on June 26 - a day after he died - but the coroner's office deferred cause of death pending the results of toxicology tests.
Results of the tests, which can take up to six weeks to complete, were expected this week, but were then delayed until next week.
According to AP, these have now been postponed indefinitely.
The investigation into Jackson's death has come to focus on the singer's alleged addiction to prescription medication.
US media reports today claimed Jackson was described as an “addict” in search warrants issued to police investigating his death.
The warrants were granted ahead of a raid on the Las Vegas home and office of Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, on Tuesday.
