Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr Conrad Murray, is to be charged with manslaughter, it's been reported.
He is expected to be arrested within the next two weeks by police investigating the singer's death on June 25.
Dr Arnold Klein, who acted as Jackson's long-time dermatologist, could also face criminal charges, according to Fox News.
Jackson's sudden death has come to focus on the singer's alleged addiction to prescription medication.
Fox reported that detectives had initially hoped to charge Dr Murray with second degree murder but were doubtful a jury would convict him.
US media reports have maintained that Dr Murray, who was working with the singer ahead of his comeback shows in London, administered a powerful sedative to the star shortly before his death.
But the accusation has been denied by both Dr Murray and his lawyer, Ed Chernoff.
In an emotional video posted on YouTube earlier this week, Dr Murray thanked his supporters for their messages.
