Chris Brown has said he still remembers attacking his former girlfriend Rihanna, insisting that a new interview in which he appeared to say he didn't was “not representative”.
In a statement to People magazine, Brown said promo clips from his interview with Larry King, due to air on Wednesday, had been taken out of context.
The singer claimed he “misspoke” after King asked him the same question about whether he remembered the incident “four or five times”.
"Of course I remember what happened,” Brown told People.
“Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur."
In his first round of interview about the attack, Brown, who was last week sentenced to five years' probation, also revealed that he still loved Rihanna.
"I never fell out of love with her,” he said. "That just wouldn't go away."
As part of his sentence, Brown will also have to attend domestic violence counselling and stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna for the next five years.
Brown beat Rihanna outside a parked car in Los Angeles in February.
The incident took place just hours before both stars were due to appear at the Grammy Awards.
