Michael Jackson described Madonna as “not a nice person” after the star suggested they visit a strip club, it has emerged.
The singer, who died in June, is always thought to have had a close friendship with Madonna, who paid tribute to him at the recent MTV Video Music Awards.
But during a discussion with his former spiritual adviser Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Jackson revealed that the pair could not always agree on what to do together.
Recalling one conversation, Jackson said: "Madonna laid the law down to me before we went out.
“'[She said] I am not going to Disneyland, OK? That's out I said, 'I didn't ask to go to Disneyland'. She said, 'We are going to the restaurant. And afterwards, we are going to a strip bar'.”
Jackson continued: "I said, 'I am not going to a strip bar, where they cross dress. Guys who are girls,' I said. 'I am not going to there. If that's how it is, forget this whole thing'.”
The singer said his response to Madonna caused her to say “some mean things about me in the press”.
He added: “And I wrote that she is a nasty witch, after I was so kind to her."
Boteach, 42, recorded more than 30 hours of interviews with Jackson, which have appeared in a new book.
In other interviews, Jackson spoke about Adolf Hitler, Princess Diana and the killers of schoolboy James Bulger.
