“We have a rule: whenever we write something, we ask ourselves, ‘Can you see 100,000 people singing this back to you?’ If not, we get rid of it.”
As far as statements of intent, they don’t come much bigger than Morning Parade’s motto of choice. But ever since Gigwise tipped the band as ones to watch in 2011 back in July, they’ve more than lived up to their lofty expectations.
Fresh from playing their first-ever London gig at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the band are currently putting the finishing touches to their as-yet-untitled debut album, and a couple of weeks ago Gigwise was invited down to see how it was coming along.
You can see the results in our exclusive photo gallery below.
Morning’s Parade’s debut single ‘Under The Stars’ is released on November 29 on limited edition 7”, while their album is due early 2011.
And what are the band’s expectations going into next year? “We want to be huge,” says singer Steve Sparrow.

- I heard the new single on Zanes show and loved it. Powerful, great lyrics and melodies. Saw them in Hoxton last week and they blew the place apart. Big band for 2011 and we need one.
- Iv known this band since they started this amazing journey, hearing little acoustic gigs testing the water with what proved to be absolutely mind blowing tunes, Iv got high expectations for these guys who work very hard to make sure that every note is delivered to your ears with perfection. This is a band to support, get down to the live shows and buy the music its worth every penny.
Keep up the good work.
- Limp Christian rock band. Absolutely dreadful.
