Jay-Z’s book ‘Decoded’ has reached number three on the New York Times best seller list.
The memoirs, which were released last month through a number of interactive games, debuted behind George W. Bush's 'Decision Points' and Laura Hillenbrand's 'Unbroken.'
‘'I wanted people to have the proper context of rap, the generation, what we went though, these emotions behind these songs,’' Jay Z said to MTV News.
He added: ''The trouble is that while many enjoy listening to hip-hop, oftentimes they don't pick up on the stories being relayed in the songs.''
Meanwhile, Jay-Z has come under fire after offering a convicted drug trafficker a job within his multi-million pound business.
