Frank Carter has revealed that he quit the Gallows over an email.
Carter announced over the weekend (July 9) that he was set to leave the group due to musical differences with the other band members.
Explaining the split he told Kerrang magazine: "I didn't want to email them, but I had to. I haven't been happy for a long time and the difficulties we've had pulling new music together was the realisation that wasn't the right time for Gallows, not with me singing anyway."
He added: They took it badly, but I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I've had the greatest times of my life during the last six years, but I decided to quit, because I wanted to do the right thing for the band. I wish them all the luck in the world."
Carter will continue performing with Gallows until the end of their current tour. He will play his last ever UK date with the band in London on July 23.
The singer has already formed a new band called Pure Love. The group will enter the studio shortly to begin work on their debut album before touring in the autumn.
