Liam Gallagher has backtracked on derogatory comments he made about Viva Brother.
Earlier this year, the Beady Eye frontman described the much-maligned band as “little posh boys with tattoos”.
But The Sun reports that at a festival in Japan recently, Gallagher told the group: "I was only winding you boys up. You're a proper rock 'n' roll band."
Viva Brother – formerly just Brother – released their debut album 'Famous First Words' earlier this summer.
Their music has been widely criticised for its close resemblance to Britpop – a period of music Gallagher's former group Oasis pioneered in the mid-90s.
