The man who bought the domain named that Amy Winehouse's family hoped to use to set up a foundation in her name has refused to give it up, according to reports.
Martin McCann bought the domain amywinehousefoundation.com and also apparently registered the name, Amy Winehouse Foundation Ltd.
The late singer's father Mitch had hoped to open the foundation next month, but has now said that plans have had to be put on hold and donations given back.
McCann told The Sun that he was not “exploiting anything” buy purchasing the domain names.
“Anybody could have. It only takes the click of a mouse. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed. Detach yourself from emotions and think business,” he added.
He also hit back at Mitch Winehouse after he branded him a “d*ckhead” on Twitter.
Winehouse died last month and the singer's father announced plans to open the foundation during his eulogy at her funeral.
