Adele's '21' Beats Modern Warfare 3 As Best Selling Entertainment Of 2011

Adele's 21 beat Modern Warfare 3 to be named the best selling piece of entertainment in 2011.

The singer's chart-topping album sold almost four million albums last year, topping Modern Warfare 3 and the latest Harry Potter franchise 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 in unit sales.

The results published by the Entertainment Retail Association, shows that digital sales for music contributed to the high placing in the overall list, whereas gaming's online sales were not.

Meanwhile, Adele's '21' has regained it's place at the top of the UK album charts, exactly one year after its release.

The London singer's second album has seen a sale boost following the BBC1 showing her live Royal Albert Hall concert on New Year's Day.

The album has now spent 19 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the charts with the album, making it the UK's longest-topping album in over 40 years.
