Chris Brown will remain on probation for attacking Rihanna three years ago, a court has decided.
A judge in Los Angeles ruled that the singer should report to an official in Virginia even though he "scored high marks".
The singer was sentenced to 180 hours community service and five years probation after pleading guilty to attacking former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Brown had passed all the required drug tests and "made great strides" while under supervision, according to his probation officer.
Chris Brown will perform at this weekend's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
The appearance will mark the event were the singer's career almost ended after he assaulted the girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
The singer will join Adele, Katy Perry, Coldplay and Rihanna along with other performers at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on February 12, 2012
Nominees for the prestigious Album Of The Year award include Adele's '21', Bruno Mars' 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans', Foo Fightes for 'Wasting Light', Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' and Rihanna's 'Loud'.
