Blur's Damon Albarn has promised fans that the band's Hyde Park show this summer will be 'brilliant'.
The band confirmed this morning (February 21) that they will play a special one-off show in Hyde Park this summer to mark the end of the London Olympics.
The band, who performed in Hyde Park back in 2009 for their reunion gigs - will also be joined by The Specials and New Order for the event on Sunday, August 12.
''It'll be a proper party. It's the closing night of the Olympics. Our raison d'etre is to provide another celebration of a fantastic day.,'' frontman Damon Albarn told nme.
In order to purchase tickets fans have to pre-register for further ticket information here. Tickets go on sale Friday (February 24) at 9am.
Blur are set to make Brit Awards history tonight (February 21).
The band, who will pick up the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music Award', have planned an 11-minute live set to close the ceremony – the longest ever given to a recipient of the award.

James Corden - who will host the event - told Xfm: "The show is going to be incredible. Coldplay are opening, which will be huge. They have spent a fortune on pyrotechnics to make it something really special.
