Usher asks fans to 'stop buying Adele's album'

US singer Usher has jokingly pleaded for people to stop buying Adele's '21' album.

Usher's 2004 album 'Confessions' currently holds the record for best-selling album of the 2000's, although Adele is close to beating that record with her most recent release '21'.

The 'You Got It Bad' singer told Capital Radio's Breakfast Show: "If I have to confess... I told a few people not to go and buy Adele's album because I don't want her to go an break my record."

The singer soon explained his comment, saying: "Actually I love her. Unfortunately she's the closest to breaking my record for the last ten years. So now guys, don't go and buy that album right now."

Usher is currently in the UK to promote his upcoming seventh studio album, and his new single 'Climax' will be released on April 16th. The US singer also confirmed that he will be collaborating with British producer Labrinth, and that he has befriended UK rapper Tinie Tempah.
