Blur's Damon Albarn has said that he would find Alex James 'grating' if he did not know him so well.
The Britpop band have had a testing career together and have had more than their fair share of arguments and issues. However, things are going well for them at the moment and the band will headline a huge London concert this Summer to coincide with the Olympic Games closing ceremony.
Despite this, Damon Albarn has said in a new interview that he shares very few political beliefs in common with his bassist, a personal friend of PM David Cameron.
Speaking to The Quietus in a new interview published today (March 27), Albarn says: "He (James) lives next door to him (Cameron), doesn't he? Do I find it grating... ummm... ha! Does it grate on me as his friend, who has known him for years and knows that he's essentially a bit silly? No."
Adding: "If you know Alex you know it's all a bit light-hearted and silly. When I see some of his announcements in the cold light of day, if I didn't know him, they would grate on me massively. But I just know he's a bit silly so I can't take him very seriously."
Meanwhile, Albarn recently revealed that he once nearly recorded an album with David Bowie and The Kinks Ray Davies.
